Girls Basketball: East Ridge, Woodbury, New Life Academy have tough weeks

 It was a close game heading into the half as East Ridge trailed White Bear Lake 29-27, but the Bears ran off with the 56-43 win on Friday night.

Kate Burns led the Raptors with 20 points, while Madalyn Slavin finished with 13 points as the only two players to score in double digits.

East Ridge will host Mounds View for its first conference home game of the season. The Raptors tip-off on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.

Thursday

Concordia Academy 59, New Life Academy 47

It was a back-and-forth game as the first half ended with Concordia Academy ahead 28-23 over New Life Academy.

The night didn't end in the Eagles' favor as they lost 59-47 to drop to 1-2 on the season.

Bethany Brocker and Carly Hager each led the team with 11 points, while Mckayla Montgomery finished with eight points.

New Life Academy hit the road on Monday, Dec. 10, to face Mounds Park Academy. The Eagles will have two more road games on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tuesday

Edina 42, East Ridge 24

It was a low-scoring game between Edina and East Ridge, but the Raptors recorded their first loss of the season on Tuesday night as the Hornets won 42-24.

Edina led at the half, 23-15, and the Raptors scored just nine points in the second half.

Kate Burns was the leading scorer for East Ridge as she recorded 12 points. Ella Stegeman had five points, while Madalyn Slavin finished with four points.

Lakeville North 76, Woodbury 57

Lakeville North went into the half with a 35-18 lead and the lead grew as the Panthers defeated Woodbury with a 76-57 final score on Tuesday night.

The Royals went from 18 points in the first half to doubling their points in the second half.

Carley West led the team with 18 points, while Solape Amusan wasn't far behind with 14 points of her own. Lizzy Dodge completed the night with nine points.

This is the only game for Woodbury this week as the Royals prepare to host Stillwater on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
