The Woodbury Days 2018 medallion was found by recent Woodbury resident Matt Koskie. The medallion was hidden near a pond off Newbury Road and a trail south of Woodlane Hills Park.

Koskie is a past medallion hunt winner. The seasoned medallion hunter and puzzle fan also was part of a group that found the St. Paul Winter Carnival medallion this year.

The thrill of finding a medallion inspires him to keep on the hunt, he said.

“There is nothing quite like the excitement you get when you fish it up out of wherever it had been sitting all that time, eluding all other hunters,” Koskie wrote in an email Monday.

This prize for finding the medallion was $200 in gift cards, courtesy of Edina Realty-Baden Real Estate Group and the Woodbury Bulletin.

Koskie’s advice for fellow medallion hunters:

“My best advice that I could give someone that either currently enjoys the hunt, or is thinking about participating sometime soon would be to just get out there and put your feet on the ground, you'll never find it at home!”
